Taking away music would drastically affect the well-being of the human person. I may be wrong, but I believe a world without music would produce more mentally unstable people. The importance of music to the mental health of the human person cannot be overemphasised. Imagine waking up to a world without melody of any form, a world where people can neither dance to the beats of popular music nor listen to the soothing melodies of calm and peaceful music. Such a reality would be enough to drive people crazy.
Come to think of it, music is one thing that makes humanity fun. In other words, a world without music is a world with absolutely no fun, and such a world is simply unimaginable. The sound of good music is probably the most prominent thing that brings pause to the ever-busy human. And if music were to cease existing, anger would obviously become the order of the day. Humanity might face its greatest doom as a result.
If such a world ever existed, humans that would exist within that period of time would obviously be of lesser quality. Imagine growing up without music; your developmental stage would definitely be stunted. Since music plays a key role in helping humans manage their emotions, a world without music would definitely produce more emotionally unstable people, and people with less stable emotions are likely to be less productive. Now imagine a world without music, a world where almost everyone suffers from extreme anxiety.
Though my imagination has led me to this post, I know deep within me that such a world is never possible. Be that as it may, the human person must find a way to create beautiful melodies. The only way music might entirely be taken away is if there were a world where humanity ceased to exist. It is only possible to imagine a world where the ability to make music completely vanishes, but I do not see the possibility of that ever becoming a reality. But if that eventually became the case, the human person would relearn how to make music.
I believe music is an integral part of the human person, and unless their cognition is taken away, they will still find their way to music. As long as the senses necessary for hearing and producing sounds are intact, humans must find their way to music, unless those senses are not functional in every human person. Only then can it be said that humans cannot make music. I guess there could be a world where humans will not be able to make music after all, but such a world may only exist as an idea.
