This morning, I started my day with a simple spirit: hunting for lontong (rice cake) for breakfast at my favorite food stall. The morning atmosphere was fresh, the air still cool, and the aroma of food from the kitchen was tempting. After a plate of warm lontong was served, I enjoyed it slowly while sipping a cup of hot coffee. The combination of the two truly provided a boost of energy, leaving my body feeling refreshed and my mind more energized.
After that, my main routine began. I headed to the rice fields to check on the condition of the crops and continue with some of the other tasks that awaited me. Working in the rice fields does require extra energy, but there's a special satisfaction in seeing the progress of the crops, tended with such patience. Every drop of sweat that falls in the fields feels worth it for the fruits of the harvest.
Toward noon, I switched to another job: delivering bread to my favorite shops. This activity has become a part of my daily routine, connecting small businesses with eager customers. Although tiring, there's a special joy in seeing the smiles of customers receiving fresh bread to resell or enjoy with their families.
One afternoon, before sunset, I took the time to go down to the rice fields again. This time, I was spreading fertilizer to provide additional nutrients for the plants, while also pulling out weeds growing in between. These small weeds may seem trivial, but if left unchecked, they can be detrimental to the main crop. Completing this afternoon's work brought a sense of relief, as if a burden had been lifted from seeing the cleaner rice fields and more well-maintained plants.
The day finally ended with a sense of gratitude. Despite the busy schedule from morning to evening, there was a certain satisfaction in completing all the work. A simple life with daily routines is certainly tiring, but there's always a sense of joy within.
