This morning, I started my day as usual with a cup of hot coffee, my constant companion. The fragrant aroma of the coffee was so calming, while I enjoyed the cool and calm morning atmosphere. Afterward, I continued my sewing routine, which has become a daily routine. I tidied up each thread and stitch one by one until midday, hoping that the day's work would be satisfying and useful.
Toward noon, I switched gears to the rice paddies to tend to the rice plants. Some of the rice paddies in the field had begun to bear fruit and were turning yellow, a sign that harvest time would soon arrive. However, some of the rice paddies were only about 15 days old, so today I took the time to spray them to ensure healthy growth and prevent pests.
While watching the expanse of rice paddy swaying in the wind, I also pulled ribbons across several areas of the rice paddy. These ribbons serve to scare away sparrows, which have begun to frequently visit the ripe grains. While it may seem trivial, protecting the harvest from birds is crucial to ensure that months of hard work are not wasted.
Today felt quite busy yet meaningful. From the morning cup of coffee until the late afternoon, every activity felt like a blend of manual labor and heartwork: sewing at home and tending the rice paddies outdoors two distinct yet equally satisfying pursuits.
