DashOutSunday: My sister's birthday and unhealthy food😁.

The #DashOutSunday is a dynamic in which you can share some pictures of food you prepared at home, or if you went out to eat at a restaurant, or in this particular case, what I bring for you is a birthday gathering of my sister.

Here in the city of Bogota is my sister for almost 5 years, and being yesterday Sunday January 30 her birthday we took the excuse to get together for a while, have a good time and eat some unhealthy but tasty things.

Actually, my sister didn't want to celebrate anything, since she is always on a tight schedule due to work, but even though she worked yesterday, she was able to leave work early and get home at 6 pm.

So we decided to meet for a while outside to eat and talk for a while, because it is not necessary to always have a big party to celebrate. Or could it be that I'm already thinking like an old man?..... 🤔

Regardless of that, there was no shortage of food. You may perhaps think it was for a large amount of people because of the amount of food, but we don't like to eat, there were only 6 of us. 😁

Of all that is on the table, a very typical Venezuelan dish is called "Quesillo" *, it is based on egg, milk, sugar and a touch of vanilla and rum, and with a caramel made with sugar...it is the one I present below in the image.

  • Quesillo, because it has a consistency similar to cheese ("Queso" in spanish), but it is sweet. Perhaps with this description and comparison you can get an idea of the texture of this Venezuelan dessert.

Obviously, it's not a very healthy thing to do, because the caloric load it has is enough to send anyone with Diabetes straight to the hospital, but, luckily none of us suffers from such a disease, so of that quesillo left on the table only the photos were left ha ha ha ha ha ha

Also the empanadas, filled with something that tasted like Pizza, yes, although it seems strange the combination, I ate no less than 5. Tuna salad with cracker, and fried sausages. That's why I say, it's not really healthy food, but, without a doubt, it's the tastiest.

To conclude I leave a picture in which we are my wife (the one on the right), my sister (the one in the center) and me. This was before we started eating.

You sister looks like you ! Happy Birthday to her. Man, 2 cakes , 2 Quesillo 😆 only for 6 people! The meat I can understand!

I gotta try Quesillo one day. I think Brazilians eat it as well, I’ll find out and see if I can get it.

It is possible that in Brazil there is something similar to quesillo. Here in Colombia there is something similar called Quesadilla. It seems that because of the similar historical origins there is a lot in common.
Hopefully you can try it someday. I think that being from the Caribbean, you might like those flavors.

You sister looks like you !

My sister has green eyes, I didn't have the same luck ha ha ha ha.
Greetings bro.

Congratulations with her birthday and I', with you regarding I don't need any fuss around birthdays and rather have an intimate "party".

Those snacks are looking delicious and would definitely like to try out the Quesillo one day.
