Hello everyone, I welcome you to another week of Afri-tunes weekly music contest #43. For this week I did a Nigerian song which was sang by Angel titled OPOMULERO. The song is a Yoruba-English song with a very beautiful and strong message. Opomulero means pillar and in the song, the artist tried to explain how God is her pillar.
When we have someone we can call our pillar, we have no fear whatsoever because we know he will always come through for us. And for me, God is my pillar and I know what he is capable of doing and that is why I can't debate whether putting my trust in him or not because I know that if he be for me no one, absolutely no one can be against me. In times when I'm lonely he is my companion, when I'm sick he is my healer and when I am in need of anything, he always come through for me.
I've known this song since when I was a little girl, I remember that we used it as a song for a choreography we did back then and I'm very sure some of you (Nigerians) will remember the dance steps, lolz, I was not so good at dancing to I just learned how to sing the song instead. Some days ago while I was watching tik tok with my sister, I saw a video where some boys were doing the exact choreography of the song and that made me take interest in the song again.
I did an acapella version of the song and also tried my best to write the lyrics on the screen as you watch so it will be easy for you to follow through, I couldn't get the full lyrics of the song on the internet so I wrote it manually and also tried to interpret it myself too with the help of Google translate, hehe.
