The Parade Rehearsal at the Nysc Camp

in Hive Naijalast year

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

Most of my friends here already know I am in camp performing my duty of serving my father's land, which means I am a Nigerian Corper. Today marks it 16 days I have been in the orientation camp and it makes me happy knowing there are just a few days to the end while I return home for some weeks before resuming to my place of primary assignment for the remaining 11 months.

Activities had started right from day one where soldiers were assigned to different platoons with each platoon consisting of Corp members. There are 10 platoons and corpers were given their platoon numbers of which I fall into number 4. In each platoon, we have officers/instructors and commandants who are in charge of directing us and ensuring we are involved in different activities like marching, drumming, those in the Red Cross group, Man O war, OBS (Orientation Broadcasting Service) etc.

The swearing-in ceremony where Corp members were sworn in and officially called Corpers instead of Prospective Corpers has been done. The governor, commissioner for police, and other guests came to honour the day for us. It was an amazing moment to be sworn in officially. After the event, the next activity kick-started. The parade rehearsals had started over a week ago and later today, we would be doing the inter-platoon competition. In the video, it was the last rehearsal we had where number 1-10 platoons were marching as the band were giving them sweet sound to be aligned accordingly. I was part of the parade before but was removed by my platoon commandant. He didn't give room for a second chance or even tried to correct me but was too aggressive and quick to remove me and a few members. He expected us to grab something he hasn't taught us, he was just too angry which I didn't like.

Of course, I was super excited because it meant I wouldn't be engaging in strenuous activities but to be a part of Platoon 11. This platoon is invisible but it is their way of classifying those not marching as we are called real Otondos (this term means fools in the Nysc slang). I don't care, since no one stresses me, I am good to go. Lol

I hope you enjoyed the parade rehearsal and how the bands did their best too.

Images are originally mine.

Thanks for your time on my blog.

I feel like you are in a prison. If I were in your place I might fly away from there. I can't do so much physical hard work. But it's a good thing when you start to enjoy it. In fact, you don't have any escape way of it😅😅. !LOL

Which is faster
hot or cold?, Hot, because you can easily catch a cold.

Hahaha. Prison indeed. We are being confined here till after 21 days. Just remaining 5 days to go and I am done
Lol

Otondo corper 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I cannot laugh.
Well you are going home to rest a bit

Yes oo. Just 3 days remaining. Lol

I can't even see you my princess , where are you exactly .

Hehehe. I explained the reason in the post 🙂

Thank you for the support.

This brought back some memories, I remembered General Salute, General Salute was my favourite band song in camp those day,
Keep it up Corpers weeee🙌🙌

Yes, I love it too. The guy who commanded it here really tried. It wasn't easy oo

All those activities at camp is one of the main things I dread about nysc (the other is been posted to one dangerous village in the north). I don't just have strength for all those their military drills and dealing with aggressive soldiers that left their empathy at the barracks, maybe I will just ditch camp after all 😅 what state were you posted to?

I dread those activities too, I don't have the strength at all. I was posted to Kebbi state.

Not bad at all, at least it's a lot better than most of the other northern states like them zamfara and borno

I hope you join them in doing it. Good luck 🤞

Hahaha. Hoper ni? I no join again 😆

Otondo. I hail thee. You are a government baby now o

Hahaha. Yes oo. We go chop that 33k alawee 🙂🤣

Yes oo. Enjoy! Just start applying for jobs now sha. Put out applications there are a lot of ngos in Kebbi, if you want that line of work. Use this time wisely.

Thank you 😊

You’re welcome

Well done corper shun ✅😍

Yes, especially the social night activities, always fun and hilarious too. Thank you for watching and enjoying.

Ohh heya 😃 sorry about that but it's also good as it will safe you from unnecessary stress.

I was in platoon 1 during my own time, it's both stressful and fun though.
Congratulations in advance as you will soon be out of camp.

Yes, it really saved me oo. I will just be looking at them and enjoy the fun. Thank you dear.

Wish you luck sis! Enjoy your time there and make the best of it.

Thank you, Ngobaby

I was part of the parade before but was removed by my platoon commandant.

I wanted to ask until I got here.
You were not serious with it jareh...na only writing you Sabi 😄

I love how you're making money with nysc stuff. I wish I knew HIVE during my time

Thank you for watching. I believe you enjoyed being a platoon leader then.

Salute to our Corper shun, 😊 little by little you guys have less than a week to go.

My favorite part of the camping activities was the early morning drills as they used to make me very active and alert throughout the day.

Enjoy yourself, have fun and I wish you the best.

Hahaha. The first few days, I was enjoying it until I got tired of it, instead I preferred morning lectures even if I fall asleep 😆😆

🤣🤣🤣😂those boring lectures are a sleeping bed for most of us.

Yes o, always boring. Lol

😂😂😂, I like this spirit, they can say jack but you get your peace.

Congratulations on your parade and swearing in

Thank you 😊

Get me the platoon commander name and rank, and you will see what I will do, how dare he room my princess from the parade. He will report to Abuja shorty and be penalize I won’t take that. Anyways go and join OBS
It would be easy for you

Sorry my dear

😆😆😆

Simple o

Oya Oya do fast and provide the details

Nigerians make National Service look so cool. I like how it’s a camp for you guys. I’ve read a lot of interesting stories about it here on Hive.

I still get surprised how you guys do not go for camp before the normal service. Though it's fun but with lots of cumbersome activities

Ah well, Ghana is a wonderful place.

I don’t doubt that it must be stressful just as it is fun. Anything with the word “camp” attached to it is stressful.😅

Yes oo. You are right. Just know you will meet with stressful activities at any camp. Lol

All the activities are worth watching. Discipline and class is displayed in style. I hope you get the shining colors for all your efforts.

Happy training.

Thank you.

Corper wee!!

Omo, your parade ground is fine oh. Very neat sef. This one that you have joined platoon 11 Luke this, you come turn their OBS team. 😅 Well done.

This is a very good coverage. I particularly like the photographs and how well-taken they are.

POP is just by the corner. Congrats in advance.

Hehehe. Now, I am happy being removed from the parade oo...I can't even try it again 🙃 😅
Thank you, Jay. Omo. I can't wait for Monday to come, we will be done with everything then.

All these guys really very hardworking.

Yes, they are. Thank you.

Most welcome dear.

Wow!! I am so happy for you ma, soon you will rest with waking up early and running to get water lol..

I was actually moving my eyes to and fro to see if I could sight you lol. dont mind them, they think it's everyone that can just grab matching easily. Anyways congratulations

Hehehe. Life here is hard oo but there is so much fun. I am not among since I was removed. Thank you, Emreal.

LoL.. you are welcome ma

Oh.so nice to see the parade session. All dressed in white, so unique. The commandant seems to be too strict ro give you another chance. That's bad. But also Good!! only in such camping one learns to share and care. Happy stay my dear friend.

Yes, the white attires look so unique. All soldiers here are strict while we have the nice ones among us. Thank you so much.

So you are really lucky dear friend.

In 11 months there will be a bundle or even ocean of knowledge and discipline which you will get from this camp. I am sure. Good luck with your journey.
