I made my first entry to Afri-tunes in week 24, more than half a year after the community was created. I can still remember the procrastination I had to fight with it before I made my first entry, I will share the entry link here in this post and you'll get to see that something actually pushed me finally to start exploring the community.
Ever since that entry, I've been immersed in listening, learning and mastering more African songs from members of the community and off the blockchain... It's been a half a year long time of amazing improvement for me and I couldn't be more grateful to the community team.
The community is a year old this week and I'm more than honoured to be among those who are celebrating this achievement in my little way. To make it even more colorful, I got a nice looking t-shirt from the team and I totally love it!
My special thanks to the amazing Admin of this community @ksam and to the other admins @starstrings01 @obaro for making this more exciting to celebrate with their efforts before this week, so much work was put into this and it is so obvious and commendable. More strength to you guys. I also want to celebrate every member of this great community for always sharing their love for African music every week.
So permit me to show off my tiny self in my extra extra large black fine and well designed Afri-tunes t-shirt given to me by the team 😎
It's Afri-tunes Anniversary!!!
I can still hear myself screaming haha, I got so excited about this week, so much that I almost let it overwhelm me and not come up with a song to present for the celebration but of course, I had to overcome it and think of a song.

Dansaki is a yoruba song with a good combination of English sang by a Nigerian artist Lara George one of my favourite gospel artist. I decided to present her song as I do think it is a celebration song, giving hailing and praises to God Almighty for bringing this community thus far... It isn't a small milestone and it wouldn't have been possible without God in it.
I add the subtitle in the places I sang in yoruba language so everyone could understand what I'm singing and I'm hoping that everyone enjoys the song as much as I did.
Hey! Don't mind my lame dance, that was just a female unskilled dancer who got too excited to keep calm while singing haha. The lyrics of the song says a lot about why I chose the song so I don't think there's any need of me going in any more details than I have shared.
Song lyrics
I’m acknowledging You for who You are
For what You’ve done – In my life
I’m acknowledging You for who You are
Dansaki re, dansaki re Baba (We hail you, we hail you Father)

So I thought and I share... Since we are celebrating the anniversary of this great community, why not I share my very first video entry to this community and my most favourite of all the entries I've made the community.
I've made a total of 9 entries to this community since I joined and I bring to you the two most inspiring ones for me...
The first which made me fall in love with the community - Happy birthday by Simi Cover
The second which the community made me do something totally different from what I had thought I could do - Nakupenda (A Tanzanian song) by Jay Melody Cover
An anniversary celebration is done to celebrate a process that has gone through tough & smooth times and that means, it isn't the end but another amazing year has begun for the community. I look forward to being part of the journey and join other members to improve in my ability to sing African songs.
Happy Afri-Anniversary to you all at the community
Keep being the amazing singers promoting African music to the world.
