Hello amazing people of the Hive Open Mic Community. It’s another wonderful opportunity to share my rendition for week 280. In line with this week’s theme, “Drawing,” I chose to do a cover of the hymn “Draw Me Nearer.”
This happens to be one of the oldest hymns I know, and it carries a deep meaning with a powerful impact on our lives. Its beautiful lyrics always communicate a strong message each time I listen to it.
I truly enjoy singing this hymn, and I hope you also enjoy my cover as much as I enjoyed performing it.
- I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Refrain:
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
- Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine. [Refrain]
